Yes AND...listening, supporting, and giving gifts! Join us as we use improv to laugh and build worlds together!

IMPROV WORKSHOP: If you’re like us, you really want to get back into playing, pretending, and practicing our improv comedy skills. So, let’s get to it! Come learn improv in New Orleans with a free practice for all levels.

We’ll do a warm up and run through an activity that targets a particular tool in your improv toolbox. Then, we’ll perform scenes for one another. Whether you know a little or a lot about improv, you can meet and connect with others and learn improv in New Orleans together!

This special session is connected with the Lysistrata Comedy Festival so this space is open to persons who identify as women or non-binary.

Given this is an outdoor event, it is subject to cancellation due to weather within one hour of the event.

Please register to help us get a headcount, but you are welcome to just drop-in at any point during the hour and a half event! Also, we recommend bringing your own folding chair if you feel you might want to sit at any point.

To support the health and safety of our community, COVID-19 vaccination is required. We will check this upon arrival at the drop-in. Masks are optional. Additionally, we will discuss physical contact at the start of the session so that those that wish to maintain distancing can have that respected.

As part of our mission, Big Couch NOLA wishes to build a collaborative foundation upon which people can create. Collaboration flows from shared values, ground rules, good will, and transparency. To that end, we expect to conduct ourselves by and have performers and workshop participants adhere to Community Standards, which we believe represent positivity, common sense, empathy, and acceptance.
